L'uso di due to in una frase come Due to illness, he was unable to attend, a causa della malattia, non riuscì a essere presente, è considerato scorretto; quando serve una locuzione preposizionale si preferisce owing to: We left earlier than intended owing to the deteriorating weather condition, siamo partiti prima del previsto, a causa del peggioramento delle condizioni metereologiche.
